March 2012: Africa Agri-Food Development Fund (AADF) is a joint initiative between the Government of Ireland's Departments of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and Foreign Affairs and Trade. Its objective is to develop partnerships between the Irish Agri-Food Sector and African countries (Fund of €2 million will initially be run on a two-year pilot phase basis (2012-2013)) to support sustainable growth of the local food industry, build markets for local produce and support mutual trade between Ireland and Africa.
