Our Values
Traidlinks seeks to build the commercial performance and responsible business practices of the companies we support.
All of our operations are guided by the Traidlinks Charter. This is based on the 10 principles of the United Nations Global Compact, which is a set of human rights and labour standards, together with environment and anti-corruption safeguards.
The UN Global Compact Principles are:
Human rights
- Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights
- Make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses
Labour standards
- Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining
- The elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour
- The effective abolition of child labour
- The elimination of discrimination in respect to employment and occupation
Environment
- Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges
- Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility
- Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies
Anti-corruption
- Businesses should work against all forms of corruption including extortion and bribery
In addition to the ten UN Global Compact principles, Traidlinks adds a set of criteria relating to the economic sustainability of the activities it supports – to ensure our interventions continue to benefit the communities where we operate. What this means to our own actions is that Traidlinks is committed to acting in a manner which is:
- Inclusive
We engage with all stakeholders without prejudice to influence, improve and innovate.
- Socially Responsible
We strive to make decisions that have a positive impact on people, community and the environment.
- Respectful
We value and learn from differences in our stakeholders’ thinking, culture and experiences.
- Business minded
We behave in a professional manner. We make decisions that take into account the commercial realities faced by our stakeholders.
What this means for our partner companies?
It means we support them in building their commercial performance and responsible business practices.
How do we decide what companies to support?
In selecting which companies to support and testing the feasibility of any intervention Traidlinks uses a set of Criteria for Selection of Partner Companies.
